A Few Recent Purchases

L-R:
* T-shirt - Peacocks, £5. It's a really nice flattering cut which doesn't cling to your love handles, hallujah!
* Leggings - Miss Selfridge, £12. These are supposed to be the petite version but are longer than my usual non-petite Primark Leggings, so a bit of a fail on that part but hey ho. More than I would normally pay but I'm testing to see whether they will be better quality and last longer.
* Bag - Dorothy Perkins, in a sale from £25 to £7. Love this bag although I've been warned by the shop assistant they stain really easily. I don't mind though since it's only £7 and I promise to be careful!
* Playsuit - Miss Selfridge from £35 to £18. This is the most flattering playsuit in the entire world ever. Totally hides food babies and makes my waist look really little (which it totally is not). LOVE IT.
* Skirt - H&M, £3.99. This is a really handy basic if you have a more jazzy top that you want to tone down. I find I get as much wear out of these as jeans.

These earrings were only a £1 and I love them so much! I found them in Dorothy Perkins but Ribbon and Asher is also in BHS if that is more handy. Apologies for naff quality, my camera I just bought is not the best in the world!
Gosh set - Superdrug, £15 (+3for2 offer). The Primer is amazing and worth £13 by itself so this set is a bargain!

Brogues- £17.99 Deichmann.

Millies birthday video

This is a video I really debated about posting in case it caused concern for my sanity.

It was Millie's birthday on the 20th and I thought I would make a proper celebration of it. I know that might seem a bit mental but if this year has taught me anything it's to enjoy the little things, and I think everyone likes an excuse to celebrate! Millie loved all her new toys and treats so I was really pleased my family made such a big effort. She got tons of presents later on after I finished filming so she really was a spoilt little girl that day, alongside Sweetie who managed to scoff the most.

LUSH Blackberry Bath Bomb Demo

So my first LUSH review that I have written for this blog.
I've had products in the past, and honestly I've thought they were all pretty pants.
[OH.NO.SHE.DIDN'T.JUST.GO.THERE]

However, always a sucker to explore the hype around a company for myself, I decided to give this Blackberry Bath Bomb a whizz, which is £2.75 for 180g of product. I even recorded the whole thing for your viewing pleasure - don't say I don't do anything for you ;).

Prior to filming I had already added in some bath bomb to see how it settled, and as you can see the promised 'purple haze' looks very much like murky used bath water, which is not the most appealing thing to jump into! I don't really think the fizzing was anything to get too excited about either but it was cute as a novelty.

As for the smell, it was quite strong; when my sister used it I could smell it from my bedroom, and it did linger on the skin. It smells sort of fruity but in an artificial bath bomb kind of way... I have to laugh at the product description which suggests this bath bomb has a 'frisky scent'. Fear not, I managed to refrain myself from ripping off the clothes of the nearest passerby. In comparison to other brands, this is nothing special and I much prefer the Body Shop ranges (although they also don't make me frisky. Am I doing something wrong here.....?)

I steer well away from bath bombs normally because they always seem to break me out a case of the hives Something About Mary style.

This bath bomb was no different, so tread carefully if you also have sensitive skin.

I would recommend this for:
Anyone who smells, as a casual hint.....

Overall verdict:
Nice as a basic bath bomb, but nothing special.

Sunday Round Up #13

 Ola!

Once again I'm updating with a Sunday Round Up on a Monday. I think I might just change the name to an extremely catchy "Sometime around Sunday 'Sunday Round Up'"....
Our restaurant of choice [source]

I was out last night with my friends for pizza and chips at an Italian restaurant, it was so nice! We then had a drink in a local pub and a good old catchup. In all this time I totally forgot about blogging but I've got quite a few posts/videos that I want to share with you which I've loved recently so I can't help but post them up anyway!

- First off, I've been loving Zoe & Louises videos together, it's so nice to just see two people having fun and not worrying about being all professional or serious on Youtube. This video had me laughing my head off! I think sometimes there's a lot of pressure to be 'perfect' in videos because of all the criticism which is usually left on the Youtube comments. That must be really hard and make you end up second guessing everything about yourself, so I love how they're both so genuine and laid back about it all.

- Following on from that, I came across two amazingly good videos on self confidence, and being who you are no matter what anyone else has to say about it. This one here by brittkneegirl1 talks about how you may admire girls for this or that whilst thinking it's unattainable for yourself, when really you're only seeing the 'finished' look, they don't actually wake up with perfect hair/skin/bags of confidence etc.

- On a similar topic, I loved CarlytheBarbie's video on body image, self worth and the idea of 'Real Women'. This is a topic that I'm quite passionate about so I might share my views on this in another post when I get a chance. For now though I'll just say this: I think it's horrible that women such as Carly experience a lot of criticism about their body ('you look anorexic', 'real women have curves' etc) which are seen as 'valid' simply because Carly reaches the media ideal of a slim body.

For some weird reason a lot of women outside this weight group think that because they're attacking an imposed ideal, it's ok to criticise anyone who might fall into that ideal, rather than attacking the media  which imposes this view in the first place...

You would never go up to an overweight person (I hope) and ask if they have a disease, which is what an eating disorder is, simply because of their weight, so why would it be ok to say this to a slimmer girl?

The bottom line for me is this: women come in all shapes and sizes just as men do, and for every shape/size that a woman is there's a person out there who will fancy it.

Example: I like men that are around the 5"8/5"9 height. So does that mean that every guy who is way taller or shorter is somehow inadequete? Of course not! He's just not the right person for me, but perfect for someone else's taste. Another example is all of my friends are total different heights, shapes and sizes, yet we all attract equal attention on a night out so to me that just proves that men are attracted to different physical characteristics just as we are!

- Finally, Emma's post on handling stress was so, so helpful, and if you are anything of a stress head like me then this is worth a check out. I literally worry about everything and anything, so it's nice to regain a bit of perspective and find ways to calm myself down!
