COMPETITION: Make Me Over!

What you will win:
I tried to get things that would suit everyone no matter what colour/skin type/style etc. so hopefully you can use all of these products

* I asked a while ago now what you would like to receive as a prize, with nearly everybody saying a Sleek Palette. I chose my favourite which is the Storm Palette. Review coming soon :)
* A pair of bow earrings - how cute are they?
* Ulta lip gloss with four different shades
* This adorable ice cream key ring ahhh it's so sweet!
* 18 bird wall adhesives, which can be seen here on Irene's blog.

To win:
I've not been able to think of what exactly the competition should be, until I was watching my ultimate guilty pleasure program Snog Marry Avoid. I was thinking, "I wish someone would make me over" and thought ooh that should be it.
So all you have to do is create a look of how you would style me if you were giving me a makeover. This could be as simple as the hair you'd create, an outfit you'd choose or the way you'd do my makeup.

All you have to do is make a video or a blog post showing the look (whatever you choose to do) , how you did it and why you think it would suit me.

It could be as simple as laying out the clothes you'd choose and then taking a photo, or collecting images from the net and putting them together etc. but obviously the more clear it is the better!
The Rules:
* The competition will close at 11.59pm GMT on the 20th March.
* Post a link to your video/blog post in the comments section below
* You must mention somewhere in the video or blog it's for this competition
* If no one enters then I will host a giveaway instead :')
* Myself, my sister, my boyfriend and Mam will each be voting for what they think will suit me the most.

And that's it! Any questions please leave them in a comment below and I'll add the answer to this post. :)

HAUL: Craft Fair, River Island and Boots

Hello :)

I went to a craft fair at the weekend, which was so exciting as I've never been to one before, so I thought I'd share what I got. There was tons of things there handmade, mostly jewellery, although a lot of it to be honest was a bit too pricey. There was some real gems amongst everything though, here's what I got:

I first got this huuuuge candle, which was only £5 and I think really cute to put on my dressing table.

I also got this jewellery roll, for only £1.50, which was very nicely wrapped in a...nappy bag?! haha oh well. I love the colour and the pattern - so pretty. I wish I could make things like this myself but I'm awful :'). On my next post I'll show you a cushion which took me no word of a lie, an entire year to make. It's only a square as well ahaha.

I next went to TK Maxx as I was looking for a bowl to fill with sweeties for when friends came round. I wanted it in darnk pinkish shades, and found the perfect one.

I was after a really plain (fake) gold bracelet and found this one for £4.99 from River Island, which Steven really sweetly bought me :)

Colour '12 Coral Flush' by No'7
Finally, I got a £5 off No'7 voucher and spent it on this blusher, so it only ended up being £9. Personally I think no'7 products are a rip off for what they are to be honest, but with the voucher it's a good deal. Otherwise I'd rather get the blushes from Sleek/Body Shop. What do you girls reckon?

Life After Uni

Is it just me, or is anybody else filled with horror at the thought of what they're going to do after they finish studying? I'm in my second year of Uni now and I'm still totally lost, and feel almost like a failure when I think about what a little clue I have for my future. Everybody I'm around has it all sorted, or if they don't they're so smart it's more a case of what they'll choose to do, rather than what they're actually capable of doing. I know I'm putting a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself but I'm a worrier at heart . Does anybody have any advice on how they found out what they wanted to do? Or anybody else who has no idea either, we should make a club ;).

On a more happy note, this week I bought myself a lovely dressing table:

I've been wanting a white shabby-chic dressing table for ages, and this one is perfect. I bought a few cute things to go on it and generally went crazy at the weekend with my spending, which I'll be showing in my next post!

I also took steps towards sorting out the things I'm not happy about in my life. Firstly, my general health, so I joined the gym. Secondly, my grades, so I've made a plan for studying and have so far kept up with all my work. Finally I've been rearranging my entire room as I spend so much time in it and I hate it! All of these are minor but I have a feeling they'll make a big difference in how I feel. I'm also working out where exactly I want to go with my blog, as I feel it's just swimming about doing it's own thing at the moment. Any suggestions are more than welcome!

REVIEW: No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara

Hello lovelies :)
I'm one of the those girls who is forever on the hunt for that miracle mascara. I quite like the length and thickness of my lashes, but they're near invisible because of their colour, so a decent mascara is a must for me.

To date, the worst mascara has been Collection 2000, as it dried out on the first go, and the best has been a fake Bobbi Brown. I know, I know, it's really bad to tread into the depths of fakes. God knows what I'm putting on my lashes and it does worry me in case I wake up blind one day. I never realised when I first started using it that it actually was a fake, but it really was amazing so I kept on buying tubes and I've never had any problems. Still though I would rather not take the chance. Alas, my mascara search continues...

The No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara

· Price - £10. I’d say that was maybe a pound or so more than the average mascara, which would be worth it if it ended up being as good as the Bobbi Brown fake. But would it match up?

Before:

 After:

PROS:
· The curled wand made it easy to get in all the nooks and crannies I can’t usually get into

· The consistency of the product is just how I like it; thick and black. [That's what she said]

· It lasts a long time on my lashes and I’ve had no fall out with it

CONS:
· Probably not good for those out there who like a mascara which gives a natural effect, which personally is a look I'm not after.

· The price may be off-putting to those who would rather pull off a limb than pay more than a fiver on a beauty product. I think this really comes down to what you personally think is reasonable to pay for a mascara. For me the quality is comparable to higher end products so I find £10 reasonable.

Overall Rating: 9/10

Have you picked up any good mascaras lately you reckon are worth a shot? Let me know if you have! Also, if you're interested in dying your lashes I have another review on that procedure here :).

My Day In Photos

My day has been spent watching Friends and organising my files... Yep the fun never stops ;).
Yesterday though I went and seen True Grit; I reckon it will win a lot of shiny Oscars. Have you seen it? If so, yay or nay? Personally it wasn't my cup of tea at all.

Look at this mug set I got Steven for valentines day from the Card Factory. HOW FREAKING CUTE?! I also got him a card which looked like us in cartoon form, and a hoodie from Burtons. He got me an opal charm for my bracelet :). We already gave presents because I'm at uni during the day and he's a darts on the night. Not impressed, but hey ho.

Buzz Barry M for tootsies, and Rimmel Cafe au Lait for my fingers
The Sun newspaper had vouchers in which you could take to Superdrug for a free Barry M nail varnish, a lip gloss and eyeliner.

This is the freebie nail varnish on my feet which have been dubbed 'pasties' from my family and boyfriend ahaha :').

Ooh I forgot to tell you that I did end up getting another piercing in my earlobe. I went to this proper trashy place which was only a fiver, but he did a great job and it didn't hurt at all. Mind you, my sister got it done the next day and she nearly shat.

This has been my reading material this week. I love the library because it means if a book is naff it doesn't matter and I don't have to feel guilty at buying a book I'll never touch again, and if it's great I can just buy it.

On the left is Style Diaries which is full of fashion bloggers and their best looks. I think it's a fab idea for finding great stylish people online and really recommend it if you like your fashion blogs or you're after style inspiration.

The next along is Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. Very depressing, oh dear, but it's really good! It's basically about a girl who is taken advantage of and ends up pregnant out of wedlock, so society rejects her. In Victorian Britain you were looked down upon for sexual experience even it were rape, now I'm glad to say that society's views appear to have progressed a little!

Moving on, next on my reading list is Cold Blood by Truman Capote, who wrote Breakfast At Tiffany's which is AMAZING. I heard this is very different to his normal writing style though, so we'll see.

Finally I got Top to Toe by Nicky Hambleton Jones which is the only book I bought as I love this book. Okay, so she might come across as cold on her show, but whenever I have the feeling 'I need to sort my life out' this is the book to turn to. It's full of solid, realistic and helpful advice, I have gotten this out the library a million times and bought it on Amazon for a tiny £2.81 inc. p&p. I really recommend it, it's just so good if you like self help kind of books.

Finally my babes on their cat tower, since they do form a big part of my day ;).

Finally, to follow:
1) Patsy who always has something really interesting to say and has great style
2) Haidee, a hilarious Youtuber who tells it like it is
3) Amy who also has a fab fashion blog

Lust Lists and the Not so Hot

RAWR.

Lust list of the week.

I'm so badly crazing long hair, so I can style it like this:
http://nadiaesra.blogspot.com/
and this:

Both so pretty! I have quite a few layers in my hair, so they'd mainly be for thickness so the curl is pretty :). Can anyone recommend any brands? I was thinking Foxy Locks as they have good reviews?

I've also been loving the multi-ring look that's been floating about for a while now. I think it can potentially look tacky, but think the rings above work really well together. Mainly I have big stand-out rings, so will be indulging in some more delicate ones to stack.

I have also been lusting stones lately, a random one but I'm on the hunt for a nice gold/silver statement ring with a stone like one of the above. Anyone seen any? :)

Finally, I am thinking of starting a DVD collection like my boyfriend, his is pictured above. To me this is a crazy amount! I have like 8 DVD sets haha. To start with, I'm thinking of buying the entire box set of Friends, which is £46 at Blockbuster, hello, and Shameless <3, which is £41.77 for series 1-7.

 Not so hot...

I'm not feeling the whole wearing multiple watches along your arm. I liked layered bracelets as they're obviously just for aesthetic purposes, but I'm just not getting this watch trend.  What do you guys reckon?

I'm also not enjoying having a greasy looking face off sun lotion, no matter what I put under or on top. Blergh! It's not even a case of building up throughout the night, my face is this greasy looking as I walk out the door :/.

I don't want to stop using it (wrinkle/cancer fear), but I don't want to look like a sweaty bitch every day either haha. See example above, just not attractive.

Ahaha, I have to include Sweetie, mostly because I am contemplating drowning her in the bath (I joke). Inappropriate pooping on the floor when her litter tray is in the room is just harsh.

This is a photo of her getting her daily feeds to fatten her up since she's underdeveloped (poor diet with her cat-mammy).

And that's it! Hope you enjoyed :)

On a side note, I just wanted to say a big thank you to everybody who commented on my last post and allowed me to get a perspective on everything. I'll be replying shortly, not being ignorant, just my computer always crashes on comments so it takes foreeevvverrrr.

HAUL: Feb Bargains

Hello lovelies :)

Me and Steven decided to go look at the art galleries where we lived on Friday ooh la la. Such a disappointment though as both of the main ones were mostly closed, but as to not waste a trip to Newcastle I managed to do a bit of shopping ;).

I went into Triple S and picked up two floral pretties. I already wore one down the pub:

How beautiful are my two friends please? I love both their styles and seriously wish I could pull off that red hair.
Here is a not so flattering photo which shows the dress better:

It was £12.50 which I think is a bargain :).

I also got this one, ahh I love how girly it is and think it will make the perfect day dress, and it was only a tenner?! Btw, the sizes are crazy off and Triple S don't let you return sale items so make sure to try on.

I'm really not sure if I already showed this next dress in a video. I don't know if I just recorded it and never uploaded it? Anyhoo, here it is :).

It's from Tammy (old school!). I don't know what they are feeding these kids but this is a 14-15year old size and it is slightly too big for me, and I'm by no means skinny.

£5.60, what a score! I love, love, love the studding and it seems really well made.

Next I got a basic skirt which I felt compelled to buy after seeing it here and here. I think it'll be a great basic for a more jazzy top, or for underneath all those dresses that are at that awkward 'shrunk in the wash but not enough to be a top' stage to protect my modesty a bit! There's nothing worse than an accidental bum flash haha.

My Day in Photos

A bag I won off Irene :) I love it and it hasn't left my arm since it arrived!

My oldie Mol

....and my young'un Mil

Flowers delivered to the door for my sister, for no reason other than they were going on a date later on. Jealous...me? ;)

Solait tanning mitt. It was the only one I could find so I thought hey £3 worth a try. So far really good, the diference in streaking is amazing

Can anyone think of a better way to store my nail varnishes? They just knock over on a surface but this is overwhelming haha

My nails this week: 'Raspberry' on every nail, and 'Nail Effects' just on my ring fingers, by Barry M.

P.S Sorry that I'm not replying to comments very quickly :(, I'm having to fight for computer time with Steven haha.
