I wanted to talk about some shoddy service I have received in a bid to warn you off! I think it's important to share positive and negative opinions to suggest/warn off so the company in the firing line today is River Island online.
I used to love River Island a few years back, it was literally my favourite store ever. I stopped shopping in there though for a bit because every time I'd buy something it would ruin after the first wash. I was browsing through the website though when I came across a top in a sale to £20 that I loved. I was a bit worried about the material but I thought it was worth a risk. Postage was £3.95 which personally I think is quite steep but I couldn't find it instore and I felt like I deserved a treat so I sucked it up and paid. Stupidly I forgot that ASOS stocks River Island and they do free postage and 20% student discount, so I would probably keep to ASOS in the future anyway now!
So this top came and it was completely bobbled as well as faulty on the sleeves which was really obvious when I tried it on. I sent it back the next day quite gutted but I couldn't even exchange because that's not an option on the returns form, so if you want another in a different size or whatever you have to go back to the website, order it again in a different size, pay for postage again and by that time my size was sold out which was pretty frustrating.
So three weeks after I sent it back they finally credited my account again, and they didn't even refund my postage. I'd understand if I was just returning something because I didn't like it, but they sent me a faulty item and I don't see why I should be charged for their mistakes. I sent an email but have had no reply so far which is quite frustrating, but I'll let you know if they get back in touch. Otherwise I'd avoid River Island and stick to ASOS, which is a better service, free postage and you can usually find discount codes on there too. So there's my rant for the day! Have you got any experiences with their service? If so did you find them good?

I've always found River Island online to be fine, although I admit their postage is waaaay overpriced! Whenever I've bought anything that I don't like I've always just returned it into store to save any hassle in sending it back, can you not take faulty items for a refund into stores? :S xx

ReplyDeleteI've found riverisland delivery fine, packaged good and super quick for standard. If they reply I'm sure they will, most companies do. La senza did for me :) I had to kick up a fuss and they created me a code for free delivery on my next order and giftwrap :) So Riverisland may do it :)

Ah not good! I was a tad disappointed with Dorothy Perkins online order (although it's normally fab).
ReplyDeleteThey sent me the completely wrong top (which was terrible looking) and their size 4 shoes didn't even fit my Mum who's like a size 6 and a half, they were massive! Luckily though it was free to send it all back unlike RI! x
