Posting from my sick bed
Oooh dear - I'm very ill today :(
I've been sick three times yesterday, twice in the night and even in the uni toilets -lurrrvely. Don't worry I had tooth paste and a tooth brush though, thank the lord haha.
The great student that I am I'll go to any lengths to secure my education ;). Nothing to do with the fact I was on a second warning so I had no choice haha.
There was a student protest at Uni today which was tres amusing. I'm all for protesting against fee rises, but trying to break into the student services building whilst playing rave music & screaming 'woooooooo! wooooo! wooo!' generally made every associated student look like a wally. Do you think protests are in vain, or could actually make a difference? It was on all the news channels so hopefully :)
Even Millie has been ill after her vaccinations :(. She has been feeling very sorry for herself, but not enough to reject the possibility of eating her weight in chicken and ham haha. I swear she is costing me a fortune, vets bills, cat carriers and all the rest; psshhh. I bought her the hugest ever cat tower ever and actually felt sick handing over that amount of money, and all she did was look at it, then me, then went back to sleep :'). If children cost more than this, count me out haha.
Anyhoo, we've booked a lovely family holiday away to Spain for the summer :). It'll be a nice treat after the stress of Uni for sure. I say this but the heat does not agree with my English complexion, probably a shock to my system that I could actually be warm haha. Where's your favourite places to go on holiday? I've only been to Amsterdam and different parts of Spain - very untraveled.
Sorreeee for the extremely long natter, but I'm bored and confined to bed haha.

Blogger Of The Week: Lauren Rhiannon
Hiii,
One of my favourite bloggers of the moment is Lauren, I love the way she writes, her style and also her pretty face :). Even though she has about a million followers and probably gets requests all the time, she was a sweetheart and answered all my nosey questions.
___
Hiii, what’s your name (for anyone who isn't yet following)?
Hello :) My name is Lauren! Blog name laurenrhiannon (first and middle name, sure you guessed!) My blog name makes me really sad though haha, everyone else has a cool and original title, but at the time, I couldn't think of one! Bah..no imagination!
& how would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Girly, shy, blonde :) ha..
Obviously I love your blog, for everyone out there who might not have seen it yet, what’s your blog about?
My blog is just me, I really don't know how to describe it. Its not purely fashion, or beauty, or lifestyle. I want people to feel like one of my friends who i'm having a blether with when they read it!
Put a favourite photo of yourself here:
I'm not sure why I picked this photo..feel free to change it. :) Funny, no matter how many posey pictures I have of myself on my blog, I am SO self conscious! I really worry what people will say..
Your must-have fashion piece of the moment?
A fur coaaat! I am DESPERATE for one! Just not found the right one for me yet! And pretty much any form of tunic with a peterpan collar...and snoods, yeh, love those! I'm an addict.
& beauty product?
I can honestly say, my muuuuuuust have product at the moment are my Sleek Glow in Peach Shimmer and blush in Rose Gold, I really tell everyone about them. They outdo my MAC and NARS, just love them! Such a cheap buy too..I love that :)
Finally, your favourite blog? :)
I genuinely can't name one, really, after thinking of it. I follow around (or over) 300 blogs..I love every one I follow for a reason. Whether its the content, envy, or just to look at a pretty face! Always looking for new reads though! :)

I'm totally with her on the fur coat front; and not going to lie, bought the Sleek Rose Gold blusher purely because it looked amazing on her aha. I haven't found it again though so I hope it hasn't been discontinued :(. Check her out here if you're not doing so already :).

Durham: Past times, H&M and The Works
Hello lovelies :) here are some of the things that I bought in Durham last weekend.
Past Times: Cushion from £10 to £5, for my Nana. I know tapestry is 'in' right now but I'm not feeling it as something I'd ever buy myself. Still though, it's the perfect era for my Nana :)
I also got this silk note book for £2.99, and bought an extra one for a friend :)
I looked everywhere for this free varnish out the December issue of Glamour... Loads had been stolen from the newsagents though urgh, but I found it eventually woo :). And that's everything!
On a side note: my first lip gloss I've used up for project ten pan. I wouldn't recommended Avon glosses as most the product gets trapped in the tube :(. Nice colour on though :)
And finally a photo of Molly in my sisters messy room :'). She looked so adorable I couldn't resist. Emxxxx |

A few of my favourite things...
Ahh I know monthly favourites are supposed to be done at the beginning of the succeeding month, but I'm too unorganised/lazy, so instead I'll just be doing snippets of my current faves every now and then :).
A little assortment this time:
1) FCUK body wash souffle - click here for full review :)
2) A/W hats - I swear I have a funny shaped head :'). This is the only hat that looks remotely decent on me, and at £6.99 from H&M it's a great price
3) Treating yourself ;) - Putting on that inevitable podge every time it's cold. My favourite sweeties are rhubarb and custards from Morrisons - yum! They have about a million calories though so I'm banning myself from indulging
4) A decent foundation brush... I love the GOSH foundation brush and really recommend it
to anyone who's considering a new brush :)
5)Knuckle dusters. The extra space means more detailed and cute designs which I'm loving. This one was from gold old Primark for around the £2.50ish mark.

Blogger Of The Week
It's taken a while, but I've now got a huge list of girls that have amazing blogs that I would like to share :).
First up one of my favourite bloggers; Christina.
I love her posts so much :). To give you a bit of a look in to what she's all about, she kindly agreed to a blog interview.
____
What’s your name?
Christina Marie, but everyone calls me Christina :)
& how would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Bubbly, friendly and sometimes a bit ditsy?
Obviously I love your blog, for everyone out there who might not have seen it yet, what’s your blog about? Thanks :) It's basically a beauty based blog! I talk about makeup, skincare, fashion and also do reviews, hauls, tags and much more. Sometimes i like to have a little natter about my personal life too!
Put a favourite photo of yourself here:
Just a bad quality webcam pic i took back in January. I don't know why i like it :P
Your must-have fashion piece of the moment?
I'm loving boots! Especially one's with the fake (has to be fake) fur and heels. I'm also really into the 'Scrabble Jewellery', Pixie Lott was first seen wearing the Scrabble ring and since i love her and her style so much, i just had to get one too :D
& beauty product? I love Red Lipsticks so i'll probably say a Rimmel Lipstick called 'Kiss Me' <3 It's lovely!
Finally, your favourite blog? :)

Pick Me Ups
What kind of items do you go for when you need a little pick-me-up?
Here's mine:
1) Sweeties. I picked sour haribos and rhubarb custards from Morrisons (yum!)
2) Cookies, especially white choc. Basically the things I can have a sugar overdose on.
3) Something that will help me when it comes to studying, since this is what I'm usually stressing over. I found these files which come with 20 plastic sheets inside. I've been using them to keep all my coursework/assignments neat :).
4) A magazine to relax with, usually fashion based or 'Take a break' for a tacky read
5) Something I usually feel too guilty buying. The Elnett hairspray is amazing, but I feel bad spending a fiver on it, although it's completely worth it.
Very Bridget Jones style ;). These were off last week though, I'm laying off all the junk food for now. I'm hoping to get down to 8 1/2 stone for Xmas, although I say "Oh I'm going to lose weight for *insert event*"all the time and then never do :').

Where have I been?
Hii lovelies! Sorry I haven't updated for a while, I had a deadline for an essay on Friday and didn't start writing it until Thursday night... I had about 4 hours sleep and got so stressed I popped a blood vessel in my eye, very sexy ;). Hopefully I'll learn my lesson! I got it done in the end and think I did an okay job, so fingers crossed.
To de-stress on the Friday night I went to my friends house which was really fun. We drank lots of wine, ate lots of cheese and watched old school episodes of 'Are you afraid of the dark?' and found the one that has scarred me for life. It's awful; a clown thing that does this awful laugh and saliva's blue goo all over itself, snatches you away at night and turns your family into horrible slavering laughing things too. It was quite funny watching it back though as it was nowhere near as scary as I remember it!
On Saturday I went to Durham with Steven. I got some cute things that I'll take photos of and show in a haul very soon!
If you ever go, I recommend the 'Fat Buddha' for lunch.
The interior is amazing and overlooks the river. We got yummy smoothies, and I ordered crispy chicken 'Peking' style with the very adventurous chips, and Steven went for this weird chicken thing in a sweet chili sauce. They were both lovely, and I think it came to about £9 each which isn't bad at all for Asian food.
Check out this nifty runway which you walk across to your table. I was very impressed! Haha.
We had a bit more of a shop around and went to the Cathedral for an hour. Not that I'm religious, but it's gorgeous and I find it really therapeutic. They had an orchestra playing which was lovely and some really interesting art.
On a side note; does anyone understand why people get hoodies with the university logo all over it? We spotted tons even though it's not a school day :S. It's not cool people! Haha. Even worse when it's a matching pants/t-shirt/hoody combo all worn together. I think I'd only get one for memorabilia purposes, and even then just for going out jogging or for lounging in. I think I might be in a minority with this view though! Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Your advice? :)
Heyy girls,
I was thinking about blogging about my attempts to lose a bit of weight once a week.. But I'm not really sure if this is the place for it?
I feel like I need support, but I also don't want to make you die of boredom haha. I could just make another blog but I think that'd be fixating a tad, and also I kind of want to keep all my ramblings together in one place.
Soooo.... Let me know what you think :). Even if it's to just say 'no' I'll not be offended - pinky promise. Also, if any of you have any tips that'd be helpful :) I pick at food all the time, and although I excercise nearly every single day I'm not very inventive when it comes to healthy meals :/. At the same time though, my outfits are getting a little tight and dieting is by far the cheaper option haha. I'm dreading posting the 'full body photo', but it will probably shock me into keeping to a healthy eating plan.
Em :)

Glamour Magazine Freebies
I literally couldn't resist.
I know, I know, I said I'd embark on the joys of 'Project Ten Pan'.
I've failed.
BUT... In a way I bought the magazine, the nail varnish just happened to come free with it ;). Plus it was just too much of an amazing deal to miss, in all honesty. I agonized over the light pink varnish and this one, 'Hampstead Heath', but I might be extremely naughty and go and pick up the pink one too.
I love this colour. As usual I did a messy job, but you can still get an idea of the lurvly jubbly colour since my camera was on speaking terms with me today yay. The polish goes on like a dream and dries very quickly, not sure of chipping just yet, but so far so good.
In case you haven't seen this deal, you can get a choice of 4 different coloured varnishes from Nails inc. (usually worth £11) if you buy a Glamour magazine for only £2.
It looks more red wine coloured in real life which I really like. Perfect shade for the autumn season yes?

REVIEW: FCUK Polished Bodywash Souffle
The product Name: 'FCUK Polished Bodywash Souffle'... now called the 'Cleansing Souffle' but it's the exact same product :)
Price: £5
This product has to be in your life. I lovelovelove FCUK products and literally cannot get enough.
I was so excited when they came out years ago, but all the products were super naff (at the time) and I never bothered with them again.
Anyhoo, about 2 years ago a family member bought me a set from the new 'polished' range. I was a bit skeptical they would be any good, but after try I was hooked.
Why do I love this so much? Umm well... The smell is amazing! Seriously, just cheekily crack open a pot in your local Boots and have a whiff, you'll not be able to put it down :). It's very 'luxurious' smelling - according to the description it's made up of scents of Mandarin, Osmanthus flower and Vanilla -mmmm.
On the skin, it's very moisturizing and very rich feeling because of it's thick consistency. Its lasts on the skin for ages when I step out the bath and leaves skin feeling very clean and happy :)! I've got the itty bitty 75ml tub, but you get 300ml for £5 which I think is a seriously good deal.
It's the best body wash I've used so far and I find it hard to stray now! Is anyone else addicted? Or do you have a product that you just can't live without? I love finding new things, so let me know!

Vote Box
Hii :).
Just to let you guys know I've put a poll on the right hand side bar and I'd love it if you could vote :). I want to make this blog as much for you guys as it is for me, but I'm not exactly sure what everyone wants to see. I got some amazing suggestions before which I'm trying to include, but if you could take the time to let me know what you want to see more of, that would be fab!

NOTD: Teal Waters by Avon
Nails after 3 coats
Back with another NOTD (Nails Of The Day) post :). This varnish is from the Avon catalogue in their 'Arabian Glow' line with the promise of speed drying results. In all honesty I was totally swayed by the advertisements, this isn't a colour I'd pick at all, probably the reason why I've never worn it until now.
PROS:
* The price is around the £4 mark for a 12ml bottle, so fairly cheap.
* It went on very smoothly and was a lot easier to handle compared to other brushes from different brands.
* Chipping is not too bad.
* The colour is growing on me quite a bit :).
CONS:
* The colour pay-off was not amazing. I started with one coat, but looked as if I had gangrene rather than a hint of Arabian allure, and three coats later I still hadn't achieved my preferred opaque finish.
* Took an Arabian night (cheesy joke I know) to actually "speed dry"...12 minutes per coat.
Overall rating: 3/10

In The News...
Hello lovelies. A serious post today!
I know this will probably not directly affect anybody who reads this, but I'm desperate to promote this issue in the hope that drastic changes will be made, so please, please consider taking the time to support this cause :).
Over the years many family members and friends have mentioned how dangerous a roundabout is where I live. It's very busy, but doesn't have any traffic lights, so many people become impatient and jump out in front of other cars, causing constant near-crashes.
I never really took much notice until I started learning to drive and was shocked at how every time I was there fatal car accidents were being avoided by mere inches and sheer luck. Worse still, my sister is a home helper and has to bring a sign-in sheet into work in a building right next to there every week, meaning I'm constantly worried she'll be ran over.
Unfortuantely a cyclist, George Le Blond, was killed on this roundabout a few weeks ago by a lorry. I decided to try and set up a goverment e-petition, but as the website isn't accepting petitions until late 2010, I thought I should set up a facebook group to appeal to others who live in the area and see how they feel about the issue. To increase the chances that something might be changed I contacted a local newspaper to attract media attention. I ended up getting an article published which you can view here so hopefully this will draw more attention to the issue. They also held a poll in which 88% of people thought that the roundabout was too dangerous. If traffic controls such as traffic lights, or a lowering of the speed limits was put in place, this could potentially save many lives in the future.
Please could you join the facebook group; the more members the more powerful the message.
I'm unsure of who to approach in the local goverment, does anybody have any idea of what would be the best approach?

Project 10 Pan
I always feel really guilty about buying new makeup products, as I have so many at home that I barely touch, so in a last ditch effort I'm going to be starting 'Project 10 Pan'!
If you've never heard of this, it's when you aren't allowed to buy any more products until you've used up, or 'hit pan' (as you would with eye shadows etc) on 10 makeup products. I'm going to be making it really difficult for myself though, so instead of just having to use up any ten items, I'm going to set it so that I have to use up 10 of the same products before I'm allowed to buy anymore.
I'm going to doing this with lip gloss/lipsticks, eye shadows, fake tan, nail varnishes and foundations. I have 50+ lipsticks and glosses (most of which are still in the packet), countless trays of eye shadows, a huge box of fake tan and loads of half used foundations. Yet I still buy more every single time I go shopping. Even worse, I buy the same things that I have in the house just by different brands, but basically the exact same colours etc.
This will be such a challenge, but if I keep buying things my other products will be going off and will need to be chucked out, so really it's the most cost effective thing.
Root for me! :)

Halloween: Amy Winehouse
This is my Amy Winehouse look for Halloween :). It was really easy and so much fun! Please excuse all the evil stares in the photos, I was trying to chanel a bit of Amy... but I just look like a serial killer haha.
Here's how to achieve the look:
Tattoos
As Amy has such a statement look, it's so easy to copy. First I bought some marker pens from the pound shop and with the help of my Mam and sister drew all her tattoos on.
These are the two pictures I used for reference
Hair
I bought a long straight black wig on ebay and pinned it up into a poof. It doesn't matter if it's straggly or the poof is badly done - it just adds to that crack addict look :) haha.
Makeup
Of course, it had to be extremely winged out, thick black eyeliner. She also has heavy brows, so I pencilled over mine with a dark brown. Amy changes between red lipstick and a soft peachy gloss so either would be fine :). I also drew on her little mole above her mouth and kept to a very neutral blush.
Outfit
One of her most printed photos was when she had a fight with Blake, in which she's wearing a plain vest top with a bright bra underneath, little denim shorts and nude pumps. I did this also, but stuck to shorts which ended below my knees so I felt a little more comfortable.
Finishing touches
I added a nose bleed using lipstick and red eyeshadow (to set it). I also added some flour to look like cocaine, and put bloody marks on my arms and legs just as she had after her brawl with Blake. I added a lot of tacky gold jewellery a la Amy; gold hoops, a gold cross necklace, chunky gold bracelets and a tacky ring.
My friends went as a voodoo doll, poison ivy, Lara Croft, Alice in wonderland and a witch, so I for sure looked the scariest.
Hope you all had a great Halloween!

Giveaway Winner
Hello lovelies!
Sorry for the delay in posting this up, I wanted to do it via video so you could see everything was fair and legit, but ultimate fail as I've lost my battery charger :(.
So just to remind you it was one entry per blog account, unless you relinked this giveaway on your own blog and then you got to enter overall 5 times. A few girlies did this so I added on the extra entries personally in the comments which you can see here.
I waited until the competition ended (as soon as it hit the day 31st of October) and then added on them extra comments for those who did that - taking it to 29 entries all together :).
So now all I'm going to do use random.org and use the generator on that - ooh I'm so excited!
Me entering the numbers:
And the generated answer is......!
So the winner is number one woo!!
I'll go back to the comments now and see who commented first....
Yayy congratulations Christina Marie! Wooo :)! Could you send me your address to emma0m@hotmail.co.uk
If you didn't win sorry :( but I'll be hosting wayyy more giveaways in the future for sure!

Thanks everyone for entering!
