BARGAINS: Superdrug 3 for 2 (GOSH & Natural Gift Sets)

Hello lovely ladies,
Thanks for all the support on my last post. It really means a lot to me <3

I'm still not even the slightest bit over it, but life is for the living and this blog is in need of some pretty pictures :).

Myself and Broggie-pie went to town on Monday to return some library books, and after a bit of brutal enforcement I managed to venture my way into Superdrug (for five minutes before she beat me if I didn't hurry up).

We came across an amazing bargain for any makeup lover that I'd thought I'd share whilst the offers still on.
In this set you get a trio-eyeshadow, lip gloss, eye pencil and primer all for only £15. This is a great offer when you compare it to buying this stuff separately (£12.99 just for the primer ahhh my purse strings). My Nana was looking for a present to buy us around that price for Xmas - I love GOSH so this was perfect!

My sister noticed not only that but if you bought two sets you get to pick something else for the same or a lower price for free :). To avoid squabbles we went for the 'Natural Luxury Gift Set', which would be easy to share, below:

This is what it looks like.. with the addition of two extra things I bought perched on top! I'd also bought some markers to make studying for Uni easier, and a tube of the much raved about E45 cream. It was half price as the box was damaged, but the product in sign is totally fine :) - bargain.

This box is soo cute, here's what it looked like inside:

Below is a review on all the products, if you fancied buying them individually or the whole gift box :)

Smells like sweeties and quite moisturizing

The shower gels are pretty small (100ml) but good for travelling etc. Smells just as it says - very coconut.

Lurve the smell of this - just like the accompanying moisturizer. Very strong smelling so should last all day!

Ummm, not a lot to say on this other than it was fine :)

Very nice and 'fresh' smelling. All the shower gels and cremes are lovely in this gift box.

I'm allergic to bath products so my sister nabbed this one. She said: It didn't produce anything jazzy like bubbles BUT it smells like yummy sherbet and leaves skin smelling all nice and clean

Haven't got round to the bath fizzer yet :')

Smells awful and not moisturizing at all, don't buy this!

Overall this set is worth looking into if you like products which smells like sweeties! The lip balm is well worth a miss though. Can't wait to try out the GOSH set, has anyone else got it?

P.S CONTEST REMINDER: As soon as it's the 31st my giveaway will be closed, so you've got an hour and a bit left if you fancy entering yourself for some freebies :)

NOTD: Bright Purple by Barry M, And China Town by Nails inc

Hello ladies :)
I wasn't going to post these photos because my attempt to put on nail varnish is actually horrific in both photos! Still though, you get a pretty good idea of the colours and I'm going to be reviewing them too.

This is 'Bright Purple 303' by Barry M below:

Honestly, I'm not very impressed with this colour at all. The application is pretty bad compared to other brands I usually go for (such as China Glaze, Nails inc and Rimmel - ultimate faves). Also, it goes all streaky and patchy, chips very easily even with a base & top coat and was quite squidgy on the top so I ended up smudging them. I've heard amazing reviews on these though, so I've ordered some other colours to try out :)

The next one was 'China Town' by Nails inc, below:

I originally mistook 'Brook Street' as this colour in an earlier post, but they're fairly different pinks in comparison. This one is a more matte finish than the other, and a lot more of a jarring bright pink, whereas I think the other is a bit more of a softer fruity pink. I prefer 'Brook Street' but still like this one :). As with all Nails inc products in my experience, it glides on very well, chips like a bugger but needs only one coat for a lot of pretty colour!

Have you tried these out? If so, what are your experiences?

RIP Smudge :'(

Urgh, this has to rank up with one of the worst nights of my life.
Someone just knocked on the door to tell us our cat had been run over in the middle of the street, and just left there to die. How sick are some people? How can they just leave them to die in horrible pain?

It was one of the worst things I've ever saw in my life. He was totally lifeless and there was quite a bit of blood coming out his nose and mouth - very bad sign. All his teeth were broken and he was breathing really funny, plus bleeding a lot on his legs.  The worst bit was his eyes - they were so scared. Of course we took him straight to the emergency vet but there was nothing they could do, they said even if they resuscitate him he'd be severely brain damaged.

I'm absolutely devastated.

However, I still want to remember all the good things about him. He was the most wonderful, laid back cat ever. He was so friendly and loved to be with people, constantly in the garden with us every summer, or under the cover with me having a nap. He liked to hide under newspapers and ate in the cutest way ever.
Pets really do become your best friends because their there for you no matter what..

Sorry for such a bleak and depressing post, but I felt like I should honour his death :)

X Factor: Week 3

Heloo my lovelies. I was out last night and have just caught up with the X Factor today - ooh the competition is fierce!
I'm so used to multi tasking I find it hard to sit down and watch the telly for so long, so erm yes, I rated their performances out of 10 as I watched haha.

Here's my list of contestants of best to worst ;).

Rebecca - 10/10

I love, love, love her voice. She really channelled the whole sexy glamorous image. All I think she needs now is that little extra confidence, and to sack the person who chooses her outfits! Her makeup was amaaaazing though, as you can see.

Matt 10/10

When I realised he was going to take on the princess of pop Britney Spears I was a bit skeptical. He totally made it his own though and sang amazingly.

Mary - 9.5/10
I love everything Mary stands for and I always believe the emotion in her performances. I agree she should try some modern songs too though like Dannii was saying.

Paije 9/10

I love his whole attitude, and think he has a lovely voice which would be perfect for the R'n'B in the charts at the moment.

Cher 9/10

Whilst I think Cher brings something interesting and new to the X Factor, her cocky personality really puts me off her. I think there's maybe a bit too much of a heavy reliance on backing singers as well, making it hard to hear if she can really rise to the game like the other singers. Still, the performance is something I could really see in the charts.

Aiden 8/10
Some of Aidens performance I literally can't get out my head, his voice is so addictive. I find him really interesting and something very different, but this week it just wasn't working for me at all...

Treyc 8/10
Hmm.. Whilst I think Treyc has a great voice, I personally didn't think this song showed that off to the best. I wasn't really feeling the whole rock chick vibe either, to me it seemed a little false.

Belle Amie 8/10

Urgh, the girl on the left is very bratty in the play backs from the week. Example: last week crying because she didn't get to sing first. The rest of the girls I don't feel like we get to see much of their personalities which is unfortunate as that's what helps you really bond with your audience. I don't know if this is just me, but there also seems to be a lot of tension which I think shows a bit. Still though, I've seen Girls Aloud live and Belle Amie sang their song 100x better than them, so I think they could maybe have what it takes.

John 7/10
I really like John, but I thought the song choice and clothes made the performance really old fashioned. Since X Factor appeals to the masses I think something a little more modern would have been a better choice maybe.

Katie 7/10
She got fab reviews off the panel, so I'm probably in a minority but I really felt like this song just didn't work for her voice at all. Still though, she worked it and looked amazing.

One Direction 7/10

I've found this group really weak the past two times, but they sounded a lot better this week. The guy who opened the song sounded like he really belonged in a pop group, although the lad who performed the backing singing (second from left) I thought was pretty shocking and over worked it.

Wagner 5/10
Most of the time I love watching Wagner because even though he sounds awful he's having such a great time you can't help but enjoy it and really get into it. This week though, he looked really uncomfortable to me. It kind of reminded me of the cringe of someones Dad getting dragged on stage at the karaoke.

Ahh -  I'll feel sad to see Wagner go, but I think it's time.
What do you guys think? Do you agree or disagree with my rankings? :)

Lust List

My life has reached tragic, tragic levels for the two following reasons...
1) I'm in the university library researching on a SATURDAY morning
2) This is actually voluntary

Now that I'm here though, I'm mostly chatting on facebook, reading blog posts and creating an online wish list for Xmas haha.
Here are some goodies I hope to see in my Xmas box:

Barry M nail polish in 'Raspberry' - how gorgeous please? (These aren't my nails, just an image I'm borrowing!)

A glue for false eyelashes I've been meaning to try out for ages!
A base and top coat by Barry M.. has anyone else tested this out? If you have, what did you think of it?
Sleek blush in 'Rose Gold'. I just swatched it in Superdrug and fell in love!
What are you lusting after?

P.S: I'm receiving all this for my Xmas present wooo! I can't wait to use them xx

NOTD: Brook Street By Nails Inc

Brook Street

This is a gorgeous barbie pink that I bought from Nailsinc.com and absolutely love the colour of!

The pay off is amazing - this is after only one coat! Also it goes on really well (no streaks) and the colour is so pretty. The only down side is that it chips really easily, as do all the other Nails Inc varnishes I've purchased since. I'd even say my cheapo products don't chip anywhere near as bad haha. If you have a good top coat though (unlike me) you could probably minimise this slight annoyance!

I really recommend subscribing to their newsletter, as some of the deals on that are absolutely amazing. :)

ADVICE: Whitening

Does anybody have any experiences with teeth whitening?

My dentist always says my teeth are in amazing condition (down to an obsessive need to constantly brush them , even a cheeky brush at Uni... ahh the weird looks I get ahaha). Despite this, their natural colour is fairly dull and not very nice to be honest.

I tried using Plus White but no difference :(. I'm thinking of professional whitening at a dentist but it's so expensive (I'm pretty sure), so I'd want to be a 100% the results would be good :). Any advice would be fab! xxx

Giveaway :)

So here it is! These are the things that I've picked up for my little giveaway - I hope theres something that catches your eye :). I tried to stick to things that everyone could use but also products I personally really like, so I ended up getting:
* Eyeshadow brush (Royal Cosmetic Connections)
* Blending brush (Royal Cosmetic Connections)

I had to try out these brushes when I seen all the amazing reviews for them across the Internet. I have to say I'm very impressed and these are definitely a staple in my makeup bag from now on!

* Three-sum (ooo-er) Eyeshadow trio in 110 Platonic (Rimmel).

I love this trio. The colours aren't glittery - something I try to avoid as the finished look can appear a bit overdone, so I love shadows which have a gorgeous sheen instead. The pink is a lovely neutral that can be used day or night, the dark one on the left is perfect for creating a smokey eye, and the bronze is just to die for. Swatches as follows (for anyone worried, these aren't from the one I'm giving away but my own copy love haha):

* My ultimate favourite lip balm of all time. If you watched my Youtube videos once upon a time you'll know that I am OBSESSED with this balm. It's amazing in every way ;). Not only is the lemony smell yummy, it has spf 35 protection so you can protect your lips from the elements as well.

* Pink ring from M Butterfly. This is so cute - it will add a nice pop of colour to any outfit :). Btw, does anyone else find it really weird there's no prices/packaging etc on anything in the shop? I just brought it to the till and hoped for the best haha.
And ta-da that's everything - hope you like them!

For a chance to win....

* You must be a follower to my blog (since this is in appreciation of everyone who makes my day by being so lovely and supportive)
* Leave a comment telling me your all time favourite blog & why. Please no cheesy comments suggesting my blog haha. Two reasons being that the winner will be randomly picked so it doesn't matter who you put, and also I'm after some new reading material so I'd really appreciate some recommendations!
* One comment per person

OR TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES:
* If you mention this giveaway anywhere on your blog you will get entered 5 times (remember to leave the link!)

This is international and will end in two weeks time on  the 31st of October -  hope this is okay :). If there's anything you're not sure on send me an email on emma0m@hotmail.co.uk
